Fronius Primo Inverter

John and family have had their solar system installed for over a year now. It has reduced their consumption of electricity from the grid from 21kWh per day, down to just 6kWh. John pays 35c for the electricity from the grid, so the 15kWh that they are now using from their solar system instead of from the grid is saving them $5.25 a day, plus they are receiving 15c per kWh for the approximately 10 - 18kWh that they are export (depending on time of year).

Having paid $5400 out of pocket (after federal STC rebates) John estimates that they will pay their solar system off in 4-5 years. John is very happy with his experience buying solar, and wouldn’t change anything if he were to do it all again. The Fronius inverter and JA panels are doing their job fine, with no issues so far. The only concern with the installation was whether the chimney in the middle of the roof would have an impact on the solar production, but the installers seamingly did a good job in avoiding any issues there, as the solar production has been very good.
